Being a Sabbatical Officer is a full time paid role starting in July 2024. There are 8 positions you can run for:

  • President (UG)

  • President (UG) 

  • Access, Education & Participation Officer (UG)

  • Access, Education & Participation Officer (PG)

  • BME Officer 

  • Disabled Students’ Officer

  • Welfare & Community Officer 

  • Women’s Officer

 

Skills and benefits you will gain from being a Sabbatical Officer:

  • A full time paid role with a salary of £24,175*

  • Charity governance

  • Diplomacy

  • Organisational skills

  • Public speaking

  • Chairing

  • Teamwork

  • Building relationships

  • Running events

  • Supporting volunteers

  • Running campaigns

  • Stakeholder management

  • Gain experience in a senior leadership role in an organisation, which would usually only come with years of experience.

  • Gain an understanding of how the University's decision making works and be 'in the room' to advocate for student needs

  • Spend another year in Cambridge, taking advantage of the student life e.g societies and sport clubs.
