Graduate studies can be rewarding but can also pose a range of challenges – here at University of Cambridge Graduate Union we work to support Postgraduate students as best we can and provide them with as many opportunities as possible to integrate them fully into life at the University.

We are looking for three trustees to come on board and lead the development of the union over the next four years. We welcome people from a range of backgrounds, but above all, we are looking for people who are passionate about the work we do – i.e supporting and representing graduate students at the University.

You will need to be able to commit to 6-8 days per year to the role and you do not need to have previous experience as a trustee – just bags of enthusiasm and good-will! The role will involve working with people across a range of capacities – from students officers to University officials. Examples of achievements over the past year include:

• Securing funding for a third full-time sabbatical Officer

• Established and increased the size of the Advice service, as well as stabilised its funding

• Be recognised as the Voice of the postgraduates at the University

• Passed a number of governance policies, ensuring the Union is seen as increasingly stable and reliable organisation, increasing our legitimacy to represent students

Working as a trustee can be incredibly rewarding as it gives a chance to have a real impact on the lives of students. If you have any more questions about what the role will entail please contact: manager@gradunion.cam.ac.uk or please visit here
