Applications are now open for the University of Cambridge Three Minute Thesis Competition 2018!

"If you have knowledge, let others light their candles in it."
-Margaret Fuller

A 60,000 word Ph.D. thesis would take around 6 hours to present. Your time 3 minutes !!

Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) was developed by The University of Queensland (UQ) as a platform to help develop research students' presentation and research communication skills. It is a celebration of the exciting research done by Ph.D. students and also a forum to get a taste of - in a breadth-first manner - the latest trends in research.

Competitors are allowed a single PowerPoint slide, three minutes and nothing but their wits and voice to get the audience engaged with their research. 3MT thus provides the speaker with the wonderful opportunity to envisage ways of effectively communicating their technical work with a non-specialist audience.

Sign-up for the University of Cambridge 3MT Competition 2018 is now open. Please fill in the form to compete in the heats which will take place on Tuesday 6th February, 5pm-8pm, at the Mill Lane Lecture Rooms.

Winners of the heats will move on to the final, to be held in Easter Term!
