Publications and Press

The Graduate Union produces several online and print publications, notably an annual Handbook with information about Cambridge, the University and graduate life for its members. The Union also issues publicity and informational material, notably the weekly GU bulletin (e-mailed to our members and subscribers) and our online events calendar.

From time to time, statements and press releases are also issued, which may be of interest to both the press and our members. Information for the press and those outside the university is also available.

Publications

  • Graduate Union Handbook
    An annual glossy publication distributed to new students, with information about Cambridge, the University and graduate life. Some of the information in the Handbook is also available and regularly updated in the Information and Doing a Postgraduate Degree sections of this website.
  • Alternative Prospectus
    An online-only publication, regularly updated, with descriptions of the colleges, departments and faculties from the point of view of current graduate students. The alternative prospectus also includes information about obtaining funding, and complements the university's official Graduate Studies Prospectus and CUSU's alternative prospectus (which gives a principally undergraduate view).

Publicity

  • Graduate Union Bulletin
    The Graduate Union distributes a weekly e-mail bulletin to its members and to other subscribers with news about Union activities and services, and with information about forthcoming events throughout the university.
  • Events Calendar
    Google Calendar
    All members of the university can view and add events to our Events Calendar, and it can be subscribed to as an iCalendar (e.g. iCal or Google Calendar) public calendar. It is also possible to request inclusion in the GU bulletin when submitting an event.
  • GU Term Card
    The Graduate Union Term Card is a handy leaflet, summarising major GU events in the current term. You will find the current term card in the Graduate Union Events section of the calender.
  • GU News
    News and highlighted events are also published on this website.
