The Department of Land Economy is unusual in Cambridge in that its focus is squarely interdisciplinary. The primary disciplines are law and economics, but with considerable reference to the environment and environmental protection, business and finance, land use and resource management.
For graduates, the Department offers two MPhils and a PhD programme. A one year taught course, MPhil Option B, offers subjects from a range of options and includes research training and the production of a dissertation. MPhil Option A gives the opportunity to write a longer dissertation over one year and is often (but not exclusively) the prelude to entry to the PhD programme.
The Department will award to fully funded ESRC scholarships for the Option B course each year. These are open to graduates from all universities who are UK or EU nationals. In addition, the Department has further limited scholarship funds related directly to particular areas of study.
