The University and College Union (UCU) will be holding a two-day strike on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 May 2016, as part of an ongoing dispute with employers over pay, gender equality and secure contracts.
UCU have asked us to draw our members’ attention to the possibility that the action may affect the marking of exams, and MPhil and PhD theses if those tasked with marking or invigilating are on strike. UCU want to stress that they do not take the potential disruption to students’ education lightly. There will be picket lines taking place across the university, none of which will cause disruption to exams.
For more info on the background to and reasons for the strike, you can visit the https://cambridgeucuaction.wordpress.com/reasons-for-the-strike/ or drop by a picket on Wednesday or Thursday.
If you have any further queries about the possible impact of the industrial action, you are advised to contact your department.
