Join the GU’s Executive Committee
The GU is currently recruiting Executive Committee Officers to start in April 2013. For more information visit: www.gradunion.cam.ac.uk/gradunion/who/join.
The Graduate Union is a democratic organisation run by elected sabbatical officers and a committee of elected student volunteers. Together they make up the GU’s Executive Committee.
The Executive Committee usually meets weekly and is responsible for:
- The organisational strategy of the GU subject to the provisions of the GU Constitution.
- Representation of the GU’s members.
- Campaigns that promote and protect the interests of the GU’s members.
- The implementation of policy set by GU Council.
- The allocation of GU funds to specific projects.
The Executive Committee is usually elected in early November by the whole graduate and mature undergraduate population in cross-campus elections, with each person serving for one full year. Elections for the 2012/13 Executive Committee will be taking place in Easter Term 2013.
