Please click on the interactive map below to locate us.
The Graduate Union is located in the heart of Cambridge city centre, on the 17 Mill Lane Site (part of the Old Press Site), which is located immediately behind the Pitt Building on Trumpington Street, and between Silver Street and Mill Lane. We are rather difficult to find and suggest that new visitors give themselves a bit of extra time to locate us.
Enter the 17 Mill Lane Site from the Trumpington Street end of Mill Lane, almost opposite the red doors of the Student Registry (formerly Board of Graduate Studies) (no. 4). Head straight on, through the small car park, ignoring the entrance signed ‘Main Entrance to 17 Mill Lane’ which you’ll see up some stairs to your left. We’re the single blue door (usually hooked open) on the left, just before you exit the Site again onto Silver Street. Our entrance is signed.

Enter the the 17 Mill Lane Site from the Trumpington Street end of Silver Street, almost opposite Ede & Ravenscroft menswear shop. The Graduate Union is the first single blue door (usually hooked open) on the right, before you reach the small car park. Our entrance is signed.
Accessibility
The main entrance to the Graduate Union is via stairs, with a handrail to the right, and through two manually operated doors.
Platform lift and ramp access is available at the side of the building, via the carpark of the 16a Mill Lane Site, the entrance to which is opposite the Mill Lane Lecture Rooms (no. 8). If possible, we recommend that visitors wishing to use such access let us know in advance, so that we can ensure someone is available to assist you.
On arrival at the main entrance to the Graduate Union, please press the signed buzzer, which is fixed to the wall to the right of the door, for assistance. You may have to wait a few minutes for someone to become available.
Because there is not always someone on the premises we cannot guarantee that someone will be available to assist you, but during the hours of 8am – 4pm you can contact the Site Custodian, Dave Homeyard, at dmh41@cam.ac.uk or 44 (0)1223 (7)69003 for assistance.
The Graduate Union has a portable hearing loop which can be requested on arrival.

Rail
The nearest railway station is Cambridge (approx. 20 mins walk), with taxis and frequent buses to the city centre. Cambridge railway station has frequent services from London (Kings Cross 50 minutes non-stop), Stansted Airport, Peterborough (connecting with the main East coast line) and the Midlands.
Car Parking
The centre of Cambridge and the area around the Graduate Union are subject to vehicle restrictions and it is advisable not to travel by car into the centre where possible. There is a small car park on the 17 Mill Lane Site for staff permit holders only. If you are a supplier or Blue Badge holder visiting the Graduate Union and require a parking space, please contact the Executive Administrator to discuss the possibility of temporarily using the car park. With regret we cannot guarantee parking as the car park is very small and spaces are occupied on a first-come-first served basis.
The nearest public car park is the Grand Arcade on Corn Exchange Street. Limited Pay and Display and Blue Badge holder parking is available nearby on Trumpington Street.
