Research Studies: Volunteers Wanted
***********************************
1. Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience Institute (BCNI)
———————————————————-
We are carrying out a research project at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and are
looking for healthy male right handed volunteers (aged 18-50). If you think
you might be interested, please read below and email camresearch@gmail.com
with your contact details (name, DOB and phone number if possible) with the
title: fPET study. Our goal is to understand how dopamine levels in the
brain relate to performance on different computerized tests of memory and
attention. Participation would involve four visits to Addenbrooke’s
Hospital for about 3 hours on each occasion. You will have an MRI scan, a
PET scan, and you will be asked to do some computer tests. On one of the
visits you will be given an oral pill containing a dopamine-enhancing drug,
which is widely used for the treatment for a range of psychiatric disorders.
We are able to offer you £250 for your time and travel expenses.
2. Autism Research Centre
————————-
We are looking for volunteers to take part in a study looking at
relationships between brain structure, psychological functioning, and
genetics. Participation requires completion of some online questionnaires,
computerized testing at our facility, giving a small blood and saliva sample
or a cheek swab, and being in an MRI. We pay £60 for completion of the
study and you can get a picture of your brain. To participate, you must be
male, aged 18-45 years, right handed, with no history of mental or
neurological disorders, English as your first language, all of your
grandparents must be Caucasian, not claustrophobic, and have no metallic or
electrical implants in your body. If you are interested and you meet all
the criteria please email Michael Lombardo at cam.aims@gmail.com.
